On a 10 metre workshop table squeezed into a friend’s factory space, Mark and Rhynie Cawood embarked on their collaborative design and print journey with a range of clothing sold at Bondi Markets. The business grew and in 2002 the design duo established Publisher Textiles and moved their studio and showroom into a large, lofty warehouse in cosmopolitan Leichhardt. Driven by their shared passion for design, they create and produce an avant garde range of fabrics and wallpapers, all made in house and designed and printed by hand.

Designer Angie McCarthy creates original hand screen printed pieces for the home in bright graphic colours. Silhouettes of native flowers from her Mum’s South Coast jungle blend with exotic birds in a burst of colour. An op-shop tea setting in vibrant hues transforms the humble tea towel into a thing of desire. Launched in December 2007, Materialistic’s range includes cushions, table cloths, napkins and a soft toy for kids called ‘Scrappy’. All products are made using the best quality natural fibres (cotton and linen). Each item is individually screen printed by hand in the Sydney studio.

They are designers of hand screen printed fabrics and modern crafters. Hand printing in their studio at 2 Young street leads them to be inspired in many directions. By printing only 3 metre lengths at a time means they are able to constantly change colour palettes and designs, making a visit to their studio a new experience every time. These small print runs are exclusive to thier studio and online shop. But they don’t stop there! They love to sew as well, fabric often going straight from the print table to the sewing machine. Stitched into quilts, soft furnishings, women’s wear, bags and anything else. Hand embellishment is a strong influence and they love to embroider round and round the organic printed motifs.

LinkspageWellSpottedws_logoWell Spotted - http://www.wellspotted.com.au        tony@wellspotted.com.au
When well spotted  started it was a serious slightly sarcastic t-shirt  brand for adults the inspiration for which came from a disenchanted 30-something year old outlook on life.
Then Tony’s son Finbar was born. The inspiration came from an entirely different place after that, now Well Spotted T-shirts are born out of parental joy, expectation & well, frustration!
